What Does Liposuction Surgery Involve?
During surgery Dr. Katz removes the excess fat from specific areas of the body using suction. Gentle suction removes the fat while the patient is under IV sedation. Furthermore, surgery takes place within our on-site surgical suite. The patient is fully monitored by a certified anesthesiologist and an experienced surgical team. After surgery, a compression garment is worn over the treated area to help the area heal quickly.
What is Liposuction Recovery Like?
Swelling, temporary bruising, and soreness at the treatment site is common after liposuction surgery. In order to reduce swelling, compression garments are worn for three weeks after surgery. Using a compression garment, the skin compresses to the body’s new contours therby helping with faster healing and recovery. As with all surgery, our complete recovery care instructions are provided after surgery.
During recovery, you should rest your body as much as possible, avoiding bending, heavy lifting, or other strenuous activity. Additional re-check appointments with Dr. Katz will be scheduled to review your healing progress and let you know when to return to work, exercise, and other normal activities.
