Micro-needling creates micro-injuries to the epidermal and dermal skin layers. Your body then responds by producing new collagen and elastin. Micro-needling aids in the production of collagen and elastin for up to six months. Treatments are recommended several times a year to promote new cell growth and replace
old, dead skin. The benefit of micro-needling is renewed, healthier skin. It is proven to be beneficial in all skin types.
- Fine to moderate wrinkles
- Uneven skin tone
- Scars from surgery or trauma
- Mild loose skin
- Improves your pores
- Stretch marks
- Acne scars
What is Automated Micro-Needling?
Automated micro-needling (also known as collagen induction therapy or CIT) is a new innovation in aesthetic medicine that can help treat the appearance of fine lines and acne scars and improve the skin’s overall appearance. During this procedure, the Eclipse MicroPen™ is used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. Automated micro-needling also creates superficial micro-channels that can be used with topical gels, creams and serums to help improve the appearance of the skin. Eclipse MicroPen™ is the most advanced medical-grade automated micro-needling device on the market. Contact our practice today to get started: 972-239-7005
How is the Procedure Done?
A disposable sterile micro tip containing 12 micro-needles glides against the skin creating micro injuries. This is done over the skin several times and triggers your own bodies response to stimulate to collagen and elastin. After the the treatment you are pink for 48 hours.
What Does it Feel Like?
The feeling associated with the Eclipse MicroPen™ is similar to light sandpaper being moved across the skin. While some areas are more sensitive than others, the speed of the reciprocating MicroPen™ tip reduces discomfort while the applied hydrating gel also makes the treatment more tolerable.
How Long Does the Procedure Take?
The procedure takes 15-30 minutes, depending on the size of the area treated.
What is the Downtime?
Immediately after the treatment you will notice a bright redness to the skin.
The total healing time depends on the Eclipse MicroPen™ setting used and the number of overlapping passes our Esthetician performs. On average, patients experience some redness for two to four days. Some patients heal completely in as little as 24 hours. Utilizing the Eclipse Dermal Recovery System™, or other quality skincare products provided by your skincare provider, can help to speed up the healing process.
When Will I See the Results?
Patients notice an immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results continue to improve up to six months after the treatment as collagen production continues.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Some patients only require a single treatment once per year to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of two to three treatments spaced about six to eight weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks or acne scars, it is recommended to receive six to eight sessions at six-week intervals.
