Correct the Position of Protruding Ears
Otoplasty, also known as “ear pinning,” is a surgical procedure designed to correct overly large or protruding ears. For adults and children ages five or older, this surgery improves the overall appearance of the face by improving the appearance of ears with unusual or undesirable shapes, creating more natural and well-positioned ears.
To perform this procedure, an incision is made in the natural creases behind the ear where cartilage can be folded or removed, if needed, and ears are positioned closer to the head. This procedure takes 1-2 hours and is performed under IV sedation and local anesthesia. Patients typically return to normal activities within the week.
