Cheek Implants in Dallas
Cheek augmentation is a surgery performed for those who desire enhanced cheek contours, greater facial balance and improved symmetry. There are two different techniques used to create the patient’s preferred result. To create high, more defined cheekbones, malar implants are placed on top of the cheekbones during surgery. The implants are inserted through small incisions inside the mouth, above the upper gum.
Some individuals develop hollowness beneath their cheekbones as they age. To restore the fullness, a submalar implant can be inserted on the underside of the cheekbone. This implant fills this hollow space and creates a more youthful facial appearance. The implant is inserted through a small incision in the mouth in the same fashion as the malar implant is inserted.
There are many different sizes and shapes of implants that can be used, depending on facial shape.
Fat Grafts can also be performed to enhance the malar or submalar area.
Each procedure takes about an hour and is performed under IV sedation and local anesthesia.
