BROW LIFT AND FOREHEAD LIFT IN Dallas, TX
Direct Brow Lift (Brow Pexy)
As a result of aging, the main tendon in the eyelid may become stretched, resulting in the upper eyelids falling to a lower position than is normal. A direct brow lift corrects the sagging of the brows and upper lids by placing thin incisions at the top margins of the eyebrows and removing excess skin and tightening the muscle. The brows may also be lifted by by forehead lift technique.
Sutures are removed a few days after surgery and make-up can be applied at the end of one week. The procedure takes approximately one hour and is performed under IV sedation and local anesthesia. The patient can return to work in one week.
A forehead lift is performed to restore the brow to a more youthful shape and position as well as remove wrinkles along the forehead and in between the eyebrows. As a result, it will correct the angry or fatigued expression caused by frown lines and makes the face look refreshed. A forehead lift can be performed several different ways, depending on what your desired results are. Incisions can be placed on the hairline by a coronal approach, which places the incisions a few inches behind the hairline. Incisions can also be placed in front of the hairline, as the hairline itself can be raised or lowered. The procedure can also be performed endoscopically, a technique that involves several small incisions using a small instrument.
The surgery takes approximately one and a half hours. It is often performed in conjunction with other facial procedures. Make-up can be worn in one week, and patients normally return to work in one week.
